It's really quite easy to become a Ring Leader because there is no application or screening process - if you want to be a Ring Leader, then all you have to do is let me know. But before you step forward, there are a few things you should consider.
I will post your name (first name only) and your email address on the Ring Directory page. Since these email addresses will be in the public domain and are visible by anyone who happens to visit that page, you should expect to receive some unsolicited email as a result. Consequently, you may want to use a unique email address (such as those available from free email accounts at Yahoo!, Hotmail, and others) for all your Ring Leader correspondence. Your other alternative is just to ignore and delete the unwanted email, just as I'm sure you already do.
As Ring Leader you will be responsible for communicating with all the members of your Ring, so please do not take on this task unless you are an experienced email and internet user. Your responsibilities will include planning your Ring's meetings, coordinating the details (such as who brings what, providing driving directions as needed, making arrangements for Recitopians with special needs, etc.), and in general making sure that all of your Ring members are kept up to date. I believe that an effective Ring Leader would be good at delegating many of these individual tasks, but I'll leave that up to you.
Still interested? Then just send me an email with the following information:
1. Your first name
2. The area served by your Ring
3. The email address you want to use as Ring Leader (see above)
4. A brief message announcing the formation of your Ring (I will not add your Ring to the Directory without this message)
Just put those four things in an email and send it to RingLeader@wwrecipes.com. Before you know it, POOF, you're a Ring Leader.
